Ingredients for 4 servings:
250gr white flour
1 whole egg
50gr sugar
50gr butter
1 dose vanilla
3 tbs Marsala
1 pinch salt
Powdered sugar
Lard to fry
Preparation:
Combine flour, sugar and vanilla, than pour all over a wooden surface.
Make an hole in the middle and pour egg, soft butter pieces and marsala in. knead well and energetically.
If dough results too firm add some marsala. Set aside for a while than roll dough with a rolling-pin in a very thin sheet.
Using a dough cutter cut 6 cm x 10 cm rectangles of dough, in the middle make tree cuts shorter than the total length.
In a medium pan warm abundant lard, when hot (lard should not smoke!) fry few chiacchere per time. Drain as soon as gold and dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle with sieved powdered sugar.
