Desserts Recipes - Tea cakes, biscuits
Pan dei morti (November bread)

Ingredients:
1/2kg crushed biscuits
250gr sugar
250gr white flour
100gr raisin, dipped in warm water, drained and dried
100gr peeled and minced almonds
100gr dry figs
White wine
Cinnamon powder
Powdered sugar
6gr yeast
4 egg whites
Wafers

Preparation:
In a medium mixing bowl combine biscuits, flour, dry figs, almonds, raisin, sugar, cinnamon and yeast.

Mix very well, add egg whites and keep mixing, add enough white wine to obtain a dough soft but still firm.

Mix well and fast for 10 minutes more and divide dough in several parts.

With the dough shape a kind of oval balls a bit pressed, place a wafer under each ball and arrange them over an oven pan. Bake in 180°C oven till the inner part of balls will be hard.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
